Stone Mountain Park

Distinguished as 鈥淕eorgia鈥檚 Mountain Biking Capital,鈥澛犅爃as more than 100 miles of single-track mountain biking trails.聽, an adventure biking website, named the Ellijay Bear Creek trail its third favorite mountain biking destination in Georgia. Other favored byways include Carter鈥檚 Lake Trail, a 5.6-mile roller coaster ride through the Ridgeway Recreation Center, and Stanley Gap, a 12-mile scenic route. The pathways are maintained year-round by the Ellijay Mountain Bike Association and its volunteers.
Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary
Are you looking for some friendly furry faces? A nonprofit 501(c)(3) sanctuary home to more than 1,500 animals,聽聽in Locust Grove assists hundreds of wild creatures annually through the organization鈥檚聽. Enjoy a free self-guided tour to learn about each of the sanctuary鈥檚 animals or pay for an up-close and personal visit with the locale鈥檚 residential friends. Tickets start at $75 per attendee.
Another adventurous outing,聽聽located in Tallulah Falls is a two-mile-long, 1,000-foot-deep quest. Hike the rim trails to glimpse stunning overlooks or obtain a permit to hike to the gorge floor. A suspension bridge soaring 80 feet above the waterfalls and river boasts spectacular views, and a paved path ideal for strollers and bikers follows along a historic railroad bed. A challenging 10-mile biking trail is the ultimate test of agility and strength.
Set amongst the picturesque backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the city of聽聽showcases plenty of fun activities for the whole family in the quaint Bavarian town. The Chattahoochee River, a famous cold-water mountain stream running through the community, attracts visitors year-round to Cool River Tubing or Helen Tubing. Sit back and relax amidst the canopy of North Georgia during a two- to three-hour trip down the river.
